Uniform Requirements
When to wear your Class "A" Uniform
Class A uniforms should be worn:
· to all Troop meetings from September 1st to May 31st
· all indoor and outdoor ceremonies
· all Board of Reviews
· when meeting with merit badge counselors
· to Troop events and activities away from our meeting place
The
complete Class A scout uniform includes:
Scout shirt (short or long sleeved) with proper insignia
Scout pants (winter months) or shorts (summer months)
Scout belt and buckle
Scout socks
Neckerchief and slide
*Sash should be worn at ceremonies
** hat or cap is optional
When to wear your Class
"B" Uniform
Class B uniforms can be worn to all troop meetings from June 1st to
August 30th and can be worn to outdoor activities.
The complete Class B scout uniform includes:
Troop or camp t-shirt
Scout pants (winter months) or shorts (summer months)
Scout belt and buckle
Scout socks
** hat or cap is optional
Uniform Swap
We collect outgrown uniforms in good condition and make them available to other Scouts. We not only encourage you to check out the items we have collected but to, also, bring us clean uniforms in good condition (no holes or stains) that your Scout no longer can wear.
Official Placement of Insignia
Merit Badge Sash: If worn, merit badges are attached to front (and back, if needed) of sash. Temporary insignia may be worn on back.
Shoulder Epaulets: Red shoulder loops identify Boy Scouting
Left Sleeve: Council patches, unit numeral, and badge of office are worn as shown snug up, and touching each other. Badge of office is centered below and touches unit numeral. The veteran unit bar (25, 50, 55, 60, 65, 70, 75, or 80 years) is positioned above and touching troop numeral and in turn touching council patch. Den chief cord is worn over the left shoulder and under epaulet.
Right Sleeve: US flag. Only the most recently earned Quality Unit Award may be worn below patrol emblem or below National Honor Patrol star. Musician badge, if in band or drum corps, is worn 1/2 inch below patrol emblem. Up to six merit badges may be worn on the long-sleeve shirt in two columns of three starting 3 inches above the bottom edge of the cuff.
